I’VE just come to understand one of the main reasons for the approaching oil shortage here, and it’s easy to correct.

We just didn’t know we were getting low because our system of measurement is out of kilter. Our stores of oil are located mainly in the North Sea, but nearly all our dipsticks are located in Leinster House.
