On December 21 I returned to Cork from London on the early Stansted flight arriving in Cork at 7.30am.

I drove to Goleen via Bantry. Road conditions were very bad and I travelled at less than 20mph the whole way – sometimes 10mph. What shocked me, however, was the lack of warnings in place, both at the airport and on the long road in front of me.
