Saints or sinners?

POPE Benedict has moved two of his predecessors, Pius XII and John XXIII, closer to sainthood.

I am not entirely convinced it is within his remit to confer sainthood on those who turned a blind eye to crimes of clerical sex abuse, up to and including himself.

When all else fails the Catholic Church should tell the truth about what happened and confess its wrongs to its young, helpless sex abuse victims.
