Bertie is in no position to lecture anyone
* 430,000 people being on the dole.
* People struggling to pay inflated mortgages on houses worth half their original value.
* Allowing banks and developers to operate in an unregulated market to the detriment of everyone in the country, except his friends.
* My children and their children having to pay for this mismanagement of our economy.
Why a distinguished institution would honour anyone with such a track record defies logic and sends out all the wrong signals. It is ironic that NUI Maynooth should wish to honour Ahern when the students it is now educating will be forced to emigrate or go on the dole on completion of their studies as a result of corrupt economic policies pursued by him and his government over the past 15 years.
What next? The priests responsible for child sex abuse in Dublin promoted to bishops and cardinals, or even Pope?
It is my intention to return my BA and H Dip parchments to NUI Maynooth.
