Sex offender’s friends disgraced themselves

I AM absolutely gutted for the woman who had to witness 50 friends of Danny Foley, who was convicted of sexually assaulting her, shake his hand and hug him in court while he was awaiting sentencing in Tralee Circuit Criminal Court (Irish Examiner, December 17).

In addition to being found guilty of sexually assaulting the victim the judge handing down the custodial sentence stated that Foley had also lied about several things during the trial.

So not only did Foley sexually assault the woman, he then went on to show no remorse for his actions. None.
