THE Irish Greyhound Board takes grave offence at the unsubstantiated suggestions of cruelty within greyhound racing which were made in an article headlined ‘Wildlife detective lays down the law’ (November 30).

Allegations of cruelty within the sport are unsubstantiated, without foundation and bear no relation to the actual welfare programmes actively promoted, supported and funded by the Irish greyhound industry.
