Lenihan in limbo: stand by for the lash

AFTER your report headlined ‘Lenihan dismisses PAC request for pension review’ (November 16) and your editorial which thundered ‘Bring them to heel, Mr Lenihan, November 18), one is forced to eat one’s last hat in disgust.

Lenihan in limbo: stand by for the lash

What a total joke this mess is becoming.

The situation after a year of government prognastitatation and obfuscuation is that we have a Minister of Finance who ...

* Ignores what he wants to ignore.

* Refuses to do what he has the power to do.

* Declines to do what he has not got the power to do.

* Does what nobody wants him to do.

* Does not do what his department advises him to do.

* Does the exact opposite of what he should do.

* Does not know what he should do.

* Does only what the European Central Bank now “tells” him to do.

On December 9 Lenihan’s lash will be felt and next day his blitzkrieg will begin.
