Church and state elites will circle the wagons

WHY should we be surprised it has taken so long for the Murphy report into clerical sex abuse in the Dublin archdiocese to see daylight. When the culprits are members of “sacred” institutions such as the state and the church hierarchy, every effort was made and will continue to be made by those in power to ensure the minimum number of perpetrators will be prosecuted.

Church and state elites will circle the wagons

We are not dealing here with individuals from rundown housing estates or a poor woman found stealing food froma superstore to feed her children, or someone caught without a TV licence. They would face the rigours of the law and be jailed as quickly as you could say “snap”. It has always been known in Ireland there is one law for the rich and another for the poor.
