Scapegoating public sector is no solution

I FEEL the description by Barry Walsh of the protests by citizens at how the country has been run as “treason” is inflammatory and totally missing the point (Letters, November 26).

Scapegoating public sector is no solution

The heads of the banks and government ministers had control of the expenditure of billions of taxpayers’ and savers’ money during the time when our present problems were being generated. Their irresponsibility has resulted in the job losses and pay cuts referred to by Mr Walsh.

Making scapegoats of sections of the community and calling for them to be “locked out” because they exercise their democratic right to protest, as Mr Walsh is doing, is anti-democratic and is not helping to solve our problems.
