Frontline attack

I’VE seen a replay of the outburst of an audience member against Pat Kenny during his Frontline TV programme (RTÉ One, November 9).

Frontline attack

There is no doubt that Frontline will have greater viewing figures because of the personal verbal attacks that Pat Kenny has had to endure during the past two episodes.

His TV and radio shows should not be a forum for this kind of abuse. Kenny is a consummate professional at his job, as is Seán O’Rourke of The Week in Politics and The News at One.

Frontline confronts the issues of the day with dialogue between spokespersons for various interests and individual members of the public, making for lively and interesting viewing.

One has to be careful of what one wishes for. I hope Pat Kenny will not be a victim of his own success.
