ON a recent Thursday I applied online to renew my road tax. On the following Tuesday, I received my tax disc in the post. Now that’s what I call real public service.

In previous years I used the postal system to renew my motor tax. I always received my new tax disc within a week. That, again, was public service of the highest order.

The motor tax people have a great system. They always send out the renewal form in good time, without me ever having to ask. These forms are well designed and very user-friendly. They need little, if any, support documentation. Payment is made so simple.

The motor tax computer “does what it says on the tin”. Other government computer systems could learn from it. Every year I experience quality customer care from these public servants. I thank them sincerely.
