Day of celebration

OVER the weekend, for just a few hours, the people of Ireland stepped out of the of the gloom of the recession, to celebrate two huge European victories.

The Yes vote to Lisbon and the incredible victory of Sea of Stars in the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe. As Pam Brown wrote: “A horse is the projection of peoples’ dreams about themselves – strong, powerful, beautiful – and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence.”

To honour the beauty of the greatest horse in the world, there should be national day of celebration.
