Jet-setters full of hot air

SHORTLY after he was appointed Minister for the Environment in 2007, Green Party Leader John Gormley jetted off to Bali for a conference on global warming.

Now US President Barack Obama, after making an impassioned plea to us all to face up to the challenges of global warming, at the recent global warming summit, is making an 8,000-mlie return journey to Copenhagen, on the fuel-hungry Air Force One, simply to lobby for Chicago in it’s bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics. When are the jet-setting politicians like Obama and Gormley going to accept personal responsibility for their contributions to global warming?
