Bishop’s statement ‘nails the Cóir lie’

I WELCOME the emphatic statement by the Catholic bishops that the Lisbon Treaty “does not undermine existing legal protections in Ireland for unborn children”. This is enlightening and I hope it will nail the lie propagated by Cóir.

Bishop’s statement ‘nails the Cóir lie’

Their other lie on minimum wage has been nailed by none other than Joe Higgins MEP, who described poster slogans that the minimum wage would plunge to €1.84 per hour if Lisbon was passed as “a serious distraction away from the points our party is making”. Does it not strike one as odd that they came up with the arbitrary figure of €1.84. Why not €1.86 or even €1.21?

What was the analysis on which this figure is based? I trawled the Lisbon Treaty text and could not find this figure anywhere?
