The people’s ship - A wonderful, powerful idea

WHAT a victory for community, what a victory for determination and imagination. The arrival of the “the people’s ship” in Ireland yesterday brings great credit to all involved, right from those who initiated the project and have brought it this far, to those who bet on the future of this country by investing cash in a project Government would not support.

The MV Julia’s arrival is a symbol of a determination not to be left behind, not to be cast aside.

The West Cork Tourism Cooperative (WCTC) objective is to restore the much-lamented Cork to Swansea route from March. This has the potential to inject over €50 million into our economy.
