SOME people living in rural Ireland may have difficulty getting home from the pub after a few drinks but keeping the present limit at 80mg (the highest in Europe along with Britain) is not a solution to their problem.

Is any pint — or any two or three or more pints — taken by a driver worth the loss of one life or serious and permanent injury to one person on our roads?

I’m sure most people who frequent the pubs would answer with a resounding No.
