Picture of pupils

I do not approve of the mode of dress employed by many young teenagers celebrating their Junior Certificate results.

I was horrified to see the photograph on your back page (September 10) of pupils of our school thus clad.

I am even more distressed by the use, without parental consultation, of such a photograph of young people.

Schools are required to have a policy regarding parental permission for the use of photographs of students under 18 years of age.

Does such a requirement exist for the press?
