Town museum closure shows a lack of vision

ON a recent visit to Kinsale in Co Cork, I discovered, to my absolute horror, that the museum had been closed due to a public sector recruitment embargo.

As a former assistant curator, I have spoken to thousands of visitors, each of whom quite clearly enjoyed and cherished their visit to the museum.

The decision to close it is shortsighted for a number of reasons.
