IN her letter (August 8), Michelle Madden suggests the Lisbon Treaty referendum should be postponed because of swine flu.

Does this mean all events that attract big attendances should be called off too? And all public transport services?

Surely a passenger on a packed commuter train is in more danger of catching swine flu than someone who pays a brief visit to a vote centre. I hope commonsense prevails.
