Show us the expenses

THE recent disclosure of Dáil ceann comhairle John O’Donoghue’s expenses when he was minister for arts, sport and tourism reinforces the viewpoint that all elected officials’ expenses — be they presidents, TDs, MEPs, senators or local councillors — should be widely available for inspection by the taxpayer on the internet.

Is it possible someone might explain why they are not?
