I AM a pharmacist and I have a problem. I want to take a pay cut, but I also want to have some say in how it is introduced.

Health Minister Mary Harney has decided to cut pharmacy payments by either 24% (her figure) or 34% (IPU/PwC figure).

As a result the majority of pharmacies across the country have resigned their medical card contracts – more than 800 according to the HSE; more than 1,100 according to the IPU.
