Lead by example

AS an alternative to making large and necessary cutbacks to the public sector, Jack O’Connor of SIPTU has called for higher rates of income tax for all workers.

How about all SIPTU members volunteering to pay penal rates of tax for a couple of months? Then Mr O’Connor can tell us how they felt about forking out their hard-earned money to prop up an inefficient public sector. Isn’t it time union leaders led by example?
