‘Correct decisions’ we can no longer afford

FOR Taoiseach Brian Cowen to defend his record as finance minister to the IMF is equivalent to the Catholic Church defending its record on child abuse or George W Bush defending his record on world peace.

‘Correct decisions’ we can no longer afford

This country, literally and metaphorically, cannot afford any more “correct decisions” like his past 10 years of blunderings with fractional reserve banking, the national debt (which actually increased during our period of greatest wealth) and the hopelessly unaffordable size of his bureaucracy (over 370,000 people formally living off the taxpayer) before we even start with the unemployed and the pensioned.
