Slane: listen to the fans

BY all accounts, the Oasis concert at Slane last Saturday week had all the ingredients of a man-made disaster.

The authorities should step in immediately and investigate the events of that weekend before the dust settles. The people who allowed things to reach such a critical stage there have a lot to answer for.

Enough is enough. The next time may be too late.

Lord Henry Mountcharles assured people that the events would be reviewed with a view to correcting mistakes for the next concert. Nonsense.

Any review should be carried out in a no-holds-barred open forum, including at least 100 members of the public who attended the Oasis concert. Such an open approach might save lives.
