Testing a theory

RYANAIR’S Michael O’Leary clings to the belief that the increase in the airport tax is having a massive negative effect on tourism and will lead to major job losses in Ryanair.

Testing a theory

I suggest he proves this theory by paying the tax on behalf of visitors for six months and then re-examine tourist numbers. If, as he suggests, visitors to Ireland will rise dramatically to pre-tax figures, then let the Government abolish the tax and Mr O’Leary continue to employ staff at current numbers.

Ryanair should put its money where its mouth is and stop playing the role of victim in the media while all the time gaining free publicity.
