On the jobs front, east Cork has been dealt another cruel blow with the news that Dawn Meats is to shed 130 staff at its factory in Knockgriffin, Midleton. Workers at the plant are confused and worried about the future.

Workers in this country, despite the best efforts of their unions, are grossly discriminated against and exploited when it comes to factory closures and staff cutbacks.
