President McAleese doing the wrong job?

I SEE President Mary McAleese was in the US leading a trade delegation last week.

Is this job for the president? What about our politicians and those in charge of the IDA and similar bodies?

And while there she “profoundly” speaks about abuse in our industrial schools and calls for prosecutions. Is this her job either?

President McAleese would be seen in the same mould as many of those who would give unquestioning loyalty to the Catholic church of old and would like to see the ancien regime restored.

And while all this is going on we forget about elections and the recession due to the building bubble where houses were built willy-nilly all over rural Ireland and in commuter belts and where children of a future generation will be so disadvantaged.
