Only one side need condemn sectarian killing
That is really not necessary. An economy of condemnation emanating only from unionist political leaders is quite sufficient.
The sectarian unionist killers do not care about nationalist condemnation – otherwise they would not kill Catholics.
But unionist condemnation needs to go further that that of the DUP’s Gregory Campbell. He said his “condemnation of this killing” is the same as “for all other killings, no matter when or where they occurred”.
Generalised condemnation of all sectarian killings suggesting that they emanate from all directions is not necessary.
Robert Hamill, Michael McIlveen, Kevin McDaid... only Catholics die. Now that the sectarian marching season is upon us, condemn that.
