Elections coverage - Vision must be rewarded

Today marks the start of the Irish Examiner’s local, European and Dublin by-election coverage.

No matter how forlorn the hope, it is still worth expressing the hope that the respective campaigns will be centred on the development of positive and forward-looking suggestions as to how best Ireland Inc can meet the numerous challenges it now faces.

It is, of course, more likely the electorate will once again be bombarded with little more than political bombast and posturing. They must see beyond it.
