EAMON MOORE (Letters, April 25) raised understandable concerns about the inclusion of Irish players in what is widely known as the British Lions rugby squad.

Clearly he is unaware, as are many people here and abroad, why we have little option but to participate without complaint.

Back in 1921, as the prospect of partition loomed, the question of remaining part of an all-Ireland team greatly troubled the unionists and an ultimatum was presented to the IRFU.
