Evoting better than ‘stupid old pencils’

BERTIE AHERN was right.

Voting machines are a better option than “stupid old pencils”. The reasons given for abandoning the machines were weak.

Whatever flaws there might have been with the machines were vastly dwarfed by the shortcomings of the paper voting method with its spoiled votes and recounts with piles of voting papers “mislaid”.

Maybe the real reason for dropping electronic voting was that it took the “fun” out of elections.

But where’s the fun in getting the wrong person elected?
