Road deaths - We must all drive safely

AS SPRING moves ever closer towards summer, it is inevitable that our roads get busier, especially at weekends.

This has probable consequences for road safety but we must do all we can to ensure that those consequences are kept to a very minimum.

This has been a bad weekend for road accident-related deaths. A string of tragedies has brought the 2009 death toll to 74, well behind last year’s comparable figure of 91.
