WHILE there is, historically, some uncertainty about the level of approval for the 1916 Rising in Dublin, I do know that a paltry 0.2% of the present population of the capital bothered to celebrate that action at the recent Easter Sunday commemorations.

It is encouraging to see we are at last emerging from the stultifying grip of misinformation peddled as fact by teachers and parents whose understanding of the truth has been compromised over the years by an ingrained hatred of all things British.

More Munster rugby and less whingeing is the way forward.
