Rugby is a great, but it would better if the drop goal was worth four points

IT was great to see Paul Warwick kick two magnificent drop goals from play in Munster’s quarter-final match against the Ospreys.

It was wonderful to see Ronan O’Gara win the Grand Slam for Ireland against Wales with his brilliant drop goal.

The drop goal is thrilling to see in rugby. It is an integral part of the game. Drop-kicking a goal is one of the finer arts that we used to see all too seldom. It is poetry in motion.
