Failed gamblers make way for a new broom

WE have brought the economy to ruin by listening to the “wealth creators” — the builders and bankers.

Too late we discovered they were only gamblers — and incompetent ones at that. Many have been so impressed with Ivan Yates’s recent rise he is being suggested as a new broom, a leader in waiting from outside the establisment. Mr Yates is an ex-minister and a bookie by profession.
