Failed gamblers make way for a new broom
Too late we discovered they were only gamblers — and incompetent ones at that. There is a silver lining in every cloud and coincident with the fall of these geniuses has been the rise of a great social commentator, and as his column last Thursday (March 5) showed, an expert on the subject of leadership. Many have been so impressed with Ivan Yates’s recent rise he is being suggested as a new broom, a leader in waiting from outside the establisment. Mr Yates is an ex-minister and a bookie by profession.
This country is an irony-free zone.
