All squandered away
It became obvious that the small business, the small fisherman and the small farmer were no longer needed so they were put out of business by bureaucracy and cheap, unregulated imports instead of promoting our own produce.
Now Taoiseach Brian Cowan is asking people to pull together and help get the country out of the mess he and his Government helped to create.
The Government presided over the bank and FÁS scandals, the various tribunals, and God only knows how many more misappropriations are to be revelaed, while ordinary workers in the public and private sectors must bear the brunt.
After all, the lectures from Government on compliance with every single EU directive to make us a good example in Europe, we now find our country is almost broke.
