Where are we?

CIARÁN COSTELLO (Letters, February 24) should not be so sensitive. He should realise “The British Isles” has always been used as purely a geographical term.

I can understand his reluctance to be called a “West Briton”, but he must also know that the French term for England — Angleterre — means End of the Earth. Where does that put Ireland?
