Child rights groups’ one-eyed view

IT never fails to amaze me and many like me how vengeful some children’s rights groups get about clerical child abuse while they appear to be deaf, dumb and blind to the other forms of child abuse taking place all around them, both at home and abroad.

Has One in Four or Barnardos ever called for heads to roll for Government-approved sex education programmes that can lead to premature sexualisation of little children in our schools?

This is child abuse. Have they done anything to fight for the right to life of the children in the womb?

This, too, is child abuse.

And what have they done about the recent decision by UCC to engage in experimentation on human embryos?

Have they called for it to be stopped? Have they called for resignations?

Like all civilised people, I abhor all forms of child abuse, including premature sexualisation of children, abortion and experimentation on unborn children.

But I am sick to the teeth of the witch-hunt that is going on against our Bishop John McGee and I am certainly not alone in my support for his decision to stay on as bishop. He is in our prayers.
