Was anti-Americanism part of Dell’s problem?

OF course the wages factor is very important, but I wonder if the rampant anti-American deluge we have here for the past few years — Shannon airport and so on — had anything to do with the departure of Dell from Limerick?

The Americans will be welcomed with open arms in Poland where citizens know the value of being free from the Soviet yoke.

Also, it’s just as well we did not pass Lisbon 1 as this would be blamed for our loss of jobs and workers’ rights. And all those nice Poles, Catholic and countrymen of John Paul 11, will we view them with the same graciousness from now on?

Indeed we may have to revert to the ‘auld enemy’ for sustenance as builders, bankers and corrupt politicians have soiled our own nest.
