Veritas is a victim of dumbed-down society

I WISH to offer my support to Veritas in their efforts to air Christmas advertising on RTÉ.

Legislation for the few removes the rights of the majority, dictating that Christian religious symbols in schools and on radio or TV ads for organisations such as Veritas have no place in ‘modern’ Ireland.

This amounts to a dumbing down of our society.

Religious orders played a huge part in educating our people in the years when governments did not have the resources or expertise to do so.

The religious orders provided this essential service out of a sense of duty and commitment to our country, and did so long before ‘benchmarking’ was ever heard of.

To turn our backs now on religious orders and ban radio or TV ads for companies linked to them is abhorrent to all right-minded people.
