Government has no long-term plan and country could go bankrupt

A LEAVING Cert business class would have drafted a more innovative budget than our Government.

Our leaders seemed to sleep-walk through the summer.

It’s unforgivable that they did not take corrective action in ample time to rescue our ailing economy.

They look like a bunch of amateurs — especially the top three in government. They have no long-term plan to correct the mismanagement of the billions that flowed into State coffers during the artificial construction boom.

When some economists flagged that all our eggs were in the one basket, they were castigated for telling the truth by our arrogant leaders. It looks like 2009 will be a lot worse than this year, or even the 1980s, as the country could go bankrupt. Maybe it’s time for the masses to storm the Bastille in Kildare Street.
