Pork products recall - From frying pan into the fire

AS IF things were not bad enough already, the country found itself in another fine mess over the weekend with the announcement that all pork products dating back to the beginning of September are being withdrawn, because some pig meat contained potentially dangerous levels of the cancer-causing dioxin, Polychlorinated-biphenyl (PCB).

The levels found were 80 to 200 times above the limit considered safe.

The Government has been unlucky to have this setback come on top of all the others, but it is fortunate that its members were not generals in Napoleon’s army. He would have got rid of the lot, because they have been so unlucky.
