‘Pocket’ partitionists

I am appalled at the pro-partition mentality of those who condemn people from this State for shopping in Belfast Derry, Newry and elsewhere in the North.

Have we heard any such criticism of the many people from this country who have chosen New York and other US cities for their Christmas shopping in recent years?

The notion that it is unpatriotic to shop in any part of theisland reflects the confused thinking that partition of the island has inflicted on a minority of our citizens, to every one’s social and economic detriment.
