HEALTH Minister Mary Harney’s willingness to risk women’s lives by cutting the cervical cancer vaccine scheme supposedly stems from her concern about State finances.

Cut TDs’ salaries to  pay for vaccine

The minister insists they can’t afford the €14m required to sustain this life-saving programme.

The TDs’ pay bill now stands at €20.3m. Why not deduct the €14m from this and deputies would will still earn €38,000 a year?
