We are a team of professionals who do our best for children in our care

WE were most disappointed by your special feature on crèches and childcare (October 29/30).

We are a team of multi- talented, qualified and experienced childcare workers who always do our best for the children in our care.

We also strive to create a good professional relationship with parents and such articles can lead to feelings of concern and guilt about having to leave children in full daycare.

Many parents have no choice and instead of always focusing on the negative, why not celebrate all the positives? Our children get cuddles, individual interaction and a varied and stimulating environment where there is always something new and exciting happening. Working with children is demanding and challenging but most of all great fun.

Every day brings something new and, yes, heads might get bumped, clothes might get paint on them, but that’s the downside. Children learn through exploring their environment and all we can do is keep it as safe as we can. The children in our care do not watch TV and spend lots of time playing, learning and having fun. We are extremely proud of our team and their dedication and consider it unfair to dismiss all childcare as shocking and deplorable. Maybe you could redress this by providing a more balanced approach to this debate.
