An excellent exhibition — with one missing link

RECENTLY I visited the ‘Inheritance’ exhibition on famous people associated with Cork at the Cork Vision Centre, North Main Street. It was excellent, particularly the sketches by Kevin Sanquest and others.

However, I was surprised not to see any mention of Capt Richard Roberts from Passage West who commanded the PS Sirius which left Passage on the April 4, 1838 to become the first steamship to cross the Atlantic. Apart from this oversight, ‘Inheritance’ was well worth the visit.
