TDs laugh as budget piles on the agony

WHILE a tough budget was always on the cards, it has turned out to be hugely unpopular and, in some instances, unfair decisions have been made.

Above all, it should have been delivered with respect to the people who will foot the bill — the common citizenry.

However, rather than treat it as asombre affair given its painful implications, we were subjected to one of the most disgusting sights I have ever seen — Government TDs laughing and clapping their way through the delivery of a hugely painful measure with a most appalling rabble-rousing crescendo of applause, laughter, hollering, fingerwaving and backslapping, like children released from school to begin holidays.
