Quality crisis pregnancy counselling available

IN response to Jennifer Hough’s article in Monday’s edition regarding the reported activities of an independent centre referred to as a ‘rogue agency’, it should be emphasised that non-judgmental, trustworthy crisis pregnancy counselling is freely available in Ireland.

Quality crisis pregnancy counselling available

The Crisis Pregnancy Agency was set up in 2001 by the Government, following the recommendations of an All-Party Oireachtas Committee, and since its establishment the availability of State funded crisis pregnancy counselling has increased by 50% to more than 50 centres in 27 locations throughout Ireland.

Good quality crisis pregnancy counselling can reduce the sense of panic for a woman in a time of crisis in her life and can provide her with services and supports that will be of help to her.
