I READ with interest Sinn Féin Senator Pearse Doherty’s letter headlined ‘Views sought for west master plan (September 15).

SF should take note of another master plan

The purpose of this letter was most interesting: the drafting of a report for the Joint Oireachtas Committee by Senator Doherty to examine what steps should be put in place to develop the western region.

This posits a very ironic scenario indeed: the existence of another such blueprint, the Meath master plan — to which Sinn Féin pays scant regard.
