McCain knows all about struggle and endurance

IN his letter (September 27), PJ McElhone asks whether John McCain is a good investment if the US economy struggles for the long term. The answer is a resounding yes.

McCain knows all about struggle and endurance

First off, McCain suspended his presidential campaign to assist in the recovery of the economy. He is sticking to his statement that he would sooner lose a presidential election than a war.

Second, who knows more about long-term suffering, struggle and endurance than McCain? He had warned the senate many times about the economic difficulties and, unfortunately, he was proven correct. More unfortunate is the fact that he was ignored at the time. Senator Obama, on the other hand, continues his rhetoric of protecting the middle class and the quest to bring about hope and change — whereas McCain is putting his money where his mouth is.
